Agroforestry & Climate Change

Restoring Land and Protecting Livelihoods

Empower Farmers South Sudan integrates agroforestry and climate-smart practices into every stage of its conservation agriculture model to address climate change and environmental degradation.

What We Do:

Promote compost-based soil restoration and permanent soil cover through mulching.

Integrate tree planting and agroforestry into Pfumvudza systems.

Train smallholder farmers in moisture conservation, minimum tillage, and crop diversification.

Establish demonstration tree nurseries and household woodlots.

Why It Matters:

These practices rebuild soil fertility, reduce vulnerability to drought and erratic rainfall, and protect smallholder livelihoods, ensuring that future generations inherit productive and resilient farmland.
